According to Wikipedia the definition of frugality is the quality of being frugal, sparing, thrifty, prudent or economical in the use of consumable resources such as food, time, or money, and avoiding waste, lavishness or extravagance.
There are many of ways to live of a life of frugality and there are various amounts of effort that one can put into it. One may never or almost never buy something without a coupon or sale, or both. Or instead one may make improvements in their home or even apartment – such as getting higher quality windows, adding insulation to walls or getting more energy efficient appliances.
Some people may opt to hunt. Others may choose to grow their own animals for the meat and/or eggs. Other people go the route of growing their own fruits, vegetables and/or herbs.
Some may opt to not engage in more frugal activities in their day to day living and instead not go on expensive vacations. Others may save every penny they can for most of the year, utilizing the various things mentioned above.
