Don’t toss out a shirt because of a broken button – sew a new one on. Don’t toss out pants because of a hole in them – save them for times when you’re working around the house.

If you have an urge to buy clothes, go through everything that you have. Take clothes that at the back of the closet and bring them towards the front. Take the clothes buried in your dresser and pull them to the top. Look for different ways to combine pieces to make outfits.

Buy clothes that mix and match well and you’ll not need nearly as many clothes.

Check out consignment shops, garage sales and thrift stores for unbelievable clothing bargains. This includes accessories too like handbags, belts and jewelry.

Hand me downs are a parents friend. If you have family members or friends who have children a little older than yours and they offer outgrown clothing, by all means take them up on the offer.
