'Frozen' wins Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Film

"Frozen" has just won a Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Film on Jan. 12, 2014, at the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif. The Golden Globe Awards are presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and honors the best in television and film. Tonight’s show was hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey live on NBC.

Directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck accepted the Golden Globe Award. Lee said, "To the most fearless and note-belting cast, we couldn't have done it without each and every one of you."

"Frozen" has taken the box office by storm. This Disney film is the story of an icy escapade that stars Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Idina Menzel.

Also nominated for Best Animated Film were:

  • "The Croods"
  • "Despicable Me 2"

"Frozen" was nominated for 2 Golden Globe Awards tonight. Its other nomination was for Best Original Song - Motion Picture by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez for the song "Let It Go."
