Frozen pie crust recall: Undeclared eggs in Kinnikinnick frozen pie crusts

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on Jan. 3, a recall of Kinnikinnick frozen pie crust due to undeclared eggs in the listed ingredient label. The Canadian based company distributed the affected pie shells across the United States.

The recalled food product contain two pie crusts in each ten-ounce package with UPC 62013300600 9.

Consumers who are food sensitive or allergic to eggs should not consume the affected pie shells because eggs were not listed as a food ingredient nor declared as a food allergen on the food list of ingredient labels.

People who consume the mislabeled food product run the risk of life threatening food allergic reactions and anaphylaxis if they are sensitive or allergic to the egg ingredient that have been used to prepare the recalled pie crusts.

There have been no reported illnesses or complaints to date.

For those who would like a refund, may return the unused food back to the original place where purchased.
