Frosty The Snowman
Run through December 22, 2013
Frosty the Snowman has arrived in Fort Worth and is on a mission. He has been sent here by Santa Claus to find a home for an orphan. Billy has run away from the local boy’s home and sent a letter to Santa with his one wish for Christmas, a forever family. Julie (Sarah Youngblood) befriends Billy and recruits Frosty to held Billy find a home. She does not know that he is already on this mission. It is no coincidence that he has “come to life” in front of Gardner’s grocery store. Mr. Gardner (Bill Jenkins) lives alone after having lost his family. The children in the neighborhood avoid him and believe him to be a mean old man who hates kids. When he learns of Billy’s plight his heart is touched and he asks Billy to let him be his father. Mr. Jenkins truly owns the part of Mr. Gardner, a lonely man who is still hurting but is ready to let someone into his heart and home once again. Santa arrives in Fort Worth just in time to see that Frosty has completed his assignment.
Frosty played by Major Attaway is a jolly and loveable character. Major Attaway’s baritone voice adds a unique touch to the traditional Christmas songs in this production. In addition to his singing, his dancing and laughter make him a perfect cast for this role. This heartwarming story will delight children and adults alike. The variety of musical numbers is entertaining for both. They will have you laughing, singing and toe-tapping. This a great show even for the younger children who may not be quite ready for the ballet or dramatic productions.
