
Coldest airmass of the season continues to funnel into the South, bringing the coldest temperatures the state has experienced since April, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Frost Advisory and Freeze Watch across portions of the state.
A Frost Advisory is in effect across Northeastern Mississippi including Tupelo-Sunday morning for the possibility of frost development as temperatures plunge into the mid 30s overnight and early Sunday morning.
Low temperatures will drop into the upper 30s to around 40 across Central Mississippi with temperatures in the low 40s across Southern Mississippi

CLEARING SKIES WITH NEARLY CALM WINDS AND TEMPERATURES FALLING INTO THE LOWER TO MIDDLE 30S WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE AREAS OF FROST ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA LATE TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING.

The coldest low temperatures will come Sunday night and Monday morning with temperatures dropping into the 30s across much of the state.
Freezing temperatures are possible across portions of Eastern Mississippi, where a Freeze Watch is in effect- including the cities of Meridian, Columbus, and Starkville.
(A Freeze Watch means sub-freezing temperatures are possible. These conditions can kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.)

PROVIDE OPTIMAL COOLING CONDITIONS SUNDAY NIGHT.TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO FALL TO AROUND THE FREEZING MARK MONDAY MORNING ACROSS NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL SECTIONS OF THE STATE.
AREAS OF FROST, ALONG WITH 1 TO 2 HOURS OF TEMPERATURES BETWEEN 31 AND 33 DEGREES WILL BE POSSIBLE.
