Beau Chevassus set out to break the world record for the most expensive coffee drink at Starbucks in Washington. Mashable.com reports on Feb. 18 that he was successful in doing so with a drink order that totaled $47.50! You can watch the attached YouTube video that Beau Chevassus posted showing his record-breaking Starbucks visit.
Beau Chevassus calls himself the "friendly hyper Christian fellow," which you will see in the YouTube video that he is. Of course, the drink that he concocted was named the Quadriginoctuple Frap with 48 shots of pure caffeine, which might account for the hyper part. If the price of a Quadriginoctuple doesn't give a customer a jolt, the caffeine will.
The combination of ingredients that he ordered was dutifully repeated by the Starbucks barista. In a comment on the YouTube video, Beau Chevassus explains that he knew the barista very well and that it was the slowest part of the day. He said at one point that he let another customer go in front of him.
The manager told me "it was the slowest time of the day, so this is perfect," but I was still mindful of people coming in. At one point I let the lady behind me go in front (she was waiting for about 10 seconds), and they came back to my saved order (I didn't know they could do that!). Everyone, the employees (the barista who I know personally very well) and the customers (some of whom were also good friends (small town)) were all really cool.
All the best,
-Beau Ch.
Chevassus ordered a wide variety of weird ingredients in a venti mocha Frappuccino: soy mocha drizzle, matcha powder, protein powder, caramel brulee topping, strawberries, two bannanas, caramel drizzle, Frappuccino chips and vanilla bean.
The displaced record holder ordered a $23.60 coffee drink with 16 shots of espresso, according to Mashable.com.
