From Twitter: Jim Carrey insults assault rifle owners

Actor Jim Carrey has made a statement on Twitter that leaves no doubt about how he feels about those who buy assault weapons. On Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, Jim Carrey posted:

@jimcarrey

Any1 who would run out to buy an assault rifle after the Newtown massacre has very little left in their body or soul worth protecting. ;^\

Carrey’s remarks have angered many on Twitter who have responded in kind with only a few tweets of support offered. Twitter has been busy with people posting about the right to protect one’s own family in the United States.

Some people have reminded Jim Carrey that he is a naturalized American, as is Piers Morgan, another celebrity who is not popular with gun owners. Many have encouraged him to return to Canada and take Piers, who is from Britain, with him.

BobS @RDSUK tweeted:

@JimCarrey Nobody forcing you to be American. Go back to Canada. #butthead

Entertainment Weekly has announced that Jim Carrey has recently signed on to his next project. He will star in the upcoming comedy heist film, "Loomis Fargo." The story is about a bank employee who teams up with a girl to steal around $20 million.
