From the Vault: Annihilation spoilers: Theros-art Wrath of God!

Ever since From the Vault: Annihilation was announced, everyone has been speculating about whether their favorite board-wipes would be reprinted. One thing was always clear though - either Wrath of God or Damnation basically had to be in. And now, according to Nico Nico Douga, the decision has come down on the side of Wrath.

Certain people might be disappointed by this - Damnation hasn't had a proper reprint, and printing it again would be a, well, blessing for monoblack decks in Modern - but the mere presence of Wrath doesn't mean no Damnation. As this is a supplemental product, there's nothing preventing R&D from printing two cards that are identical except for color.

And the new Wrath is cool enough to be worth it. The original white board-wipe was, of course, reprinted as recently as Commander 2013, but this version has Theros-themed art and flavor text, with a dynamic and vivid scene depicting the flavor text: Legend speaks of the lost coastal polis of Olantin, whose inhabitants' hubris enraged the sun god Heliod. And Heliod is seen doing something we knew he was involved with in the backstory: Sinking Olantin with a stroke of his weapon Khrusor.
