In a time where we are watching decades old businesses go under, it is refreshing to see that in downtown Phoenix there is an eatery that is weathering this financial storm.

In 1928, Sing High Chop Suey House opened its doors and continues to serve up delicious entrees such as egg foo young, sweet and sour shrimp, and scrumptious home made soups like an old favorite egg drop soup.

The dishes served at Sing High are traditional Chinese dishes that have escaped the usual Americanized fair that can be found at most local Chinese restaurants.  The food is not made until you order it, another reason people like Debbie Amavisca keep coming back.  A 10 year patron, Debbie will drive from one side of town to the other in search of her favorite lunch spot.  "I love eating here," Debbie, who was joined by newcomer David Gunn, stated.  Simply put, Debbie loves to eat, and "they give you a lot of food" for your buck.

Sing High has been a downtown favorite for over 80 years.  The restaurant does offer a banquet room with a seating capacity for 80 persons.  They are open 7 days a week starting at 11am and staying open until 9pm Sunday through Thursday, and 10pm on weekends.  Sing High is located at 27 West Madison at the corner of third and Madison. For more information you can visit their website www.singhighphx.com or call 602-253-7848.
