The Bills have announced Monday that quarterback Thaddeus Lewis will get the starting gig against the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday.
The news of the Bills starting Thaddeus Lewis came just a day after working out Pat White, Dennis Dixon, and losing out to the Minnesota Vikings in a bid to sign recently cut Tampa Bay Buccaneer starting quarterback Josh Feeman. The Bills decided to stay in-house in finding an interim replacement for rookie QB E.J. Manuel while he is out with a knee injury .
“We thought it was the best for us to move on and play with Thaddeus” said Marrone. “With Thad, he knows the whole system inside out, so at least we can give him the things that we feel strong with, which gives us a better chance of winning".

The Buffalo Bills traded linebacker Chris White to the Detroit Lions in exchange for Thaddeus Lewis on August 25th 2013 due to the mounting injuries at the quarterback position. Thad was released by the Bills on August 31st 2013 and signed to the practice squad on September 1st 2010.
Thad ran a 4.84 40 at the NFL combine in 2010.
Lewis is a Duke graduate in the field of Sociology. He started all for years for the Blue Devils setting school records for career passing touchdowns, and career passing yards. He also set a school record for most consecutive pass attempts without an interception (206). During his four years at starting quarterback he threw for 10,065 yards, 67 touchdowns, 40 interceptions, and ran for 9 touchdowns.
He has one career start in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns when they took on the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 30th, 2012. He completed 22-32 passes for 204 yards with one touchdown and one interception in a 24-10 Browns loss.
