Owned and operated by Scott and Lori Webster, Webster’s Fine Stationers has a long history of family and community commitment.
“We started this store when my father-in-law decided he wanted to retire in 2007” says Lori Webster. The business was originally founded in 1926 by Scott's grandfather, Harold "Frank" Webster. It began as a small pharmacy — Webster's Pharmacy of Altadena — and was later enlarged and run by Frank's son Bill. Through the years Bill kept expanding the store, adding a liquor store, office products, video rentals, and several other diverse outlets.
In 2007 Bill sold the store to Scott and Lori and they quickly brought back locally made and ecologically responsible merchandise. They focused on gifts, stationery, fashion accessories, artwork, vintage finds & greeting cards.
But Webster’s Fine Stationers is more than another retail shop. “We concentrate on locally made products by local vendors and artists”, Lori continues. ”There is a story to everything that we display and sell. Good old-fashioned customer service is a must!”
The store also supports local authors, carries their books, and hosts occasional book signing events. The environment is inspirational and inviting. Next time you are in Altadena check out this unique treasure.
