After days of being in the 60s, 70s, and cracking 80 over the weekend we mustered up a high of just 49 at Philly International this afternoon. This came after a low of just 31! Mind you the average high for mid-April is 64 while the average low is 44. We'll get closer to those numbers by the weekend....
For now, overnight it will be another cold and clear night with lows in Center City into the lower and middle 30s, but the surrounding suburbs will be in the upper 20s! There are Freeze Warnings posted for the outlying areas out of the city for tender plants and vegetation that should be covered or may perish as we have begun the growing season.
Come Thursday we'll have sunshine with some high clouds in the afternoon, but we'll have an easterly wind as high pressure is offshore; with an onshore wind highs will just be in the lower 50s. Ditto for Friday.
It's not until high pressure finally drifts southward that we'll get a more southerly flow come Saturday, but there's a hitch: a weak front will push by to the north Saturday morning so we will have clouds as well as some light rain as highs approach the lower 60s. It's gone by the late afternoon and Easter Sunday shall be fine with plenty of sunshine and highs in the lower 60s.
