A Frisco pediatrician who specializes in a holistic approach to treating children has a new book out about her journey to wellness.
Dr. Bain will be joining other local health experts on Aug. 28 from 9 a.m. - noon at the Frisco Grace United Methodist Church to discuss "Journey to Wellness and Beyond."

Deborah Z. Bain, M.D., FAAP has been a pediatrician in the DFW area for over 15 years. Dr. Bain created Healthy Kids Pediatrics in August 2006 to bring a more holistic approach to the treatment of children with the purpose of helping kids become healthier, not just managing their symptoms. Dr Bain has personally seen how toxins can disrupt a vulnerable immune system through her own journey back to health after nine neck and back surgeries and breast cancer. Dr Bain recently wrote “How the Chiropractor Saved My Life, My Journey to Wellness and Beyond to tell her amazing story.
Dr Bain earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1993. She completed her Internship and Residency programs at Dallas Children’s Medical Center in 1996. Dr Bain is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Matt Chalmers received his degree of Doctor of Chiropractic from Parker Chiropractic College here in Dallas. Dr Chalmers is a Certified Clinical Chiropractic Neurologist and uses Applied Kinesiology as a tool to solve some of the most complex clinical presentations. Dr Chalmers also holds a certification in Spinal Decompression, for the management of disc pain, making him one of only a handful of doctors in the Dallas Metroplex to have such a designation. Nutrition is a very large part of a healthy lifestyle and as such Chalmers Wellness offers a wide range of services to restore optimal health.
Laura Kopec is certified nutritionist, public speaker, teacher, and writer is the staff nutritionist at Healthy Kids Pediatrics. She received her Masters Degree from the University of Arizona and her Nutritional Consulting Certification from Trinity College of Natural Health. She is a professional member of the American Association of Nutritional Consultants, the American Holistic Health Association, the Coalition for Natural Health. She is a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
Mary Anne Morris Mary Anne Morris, of Healthy Cooking, in McKinney, has a passion for teaching others how to prepare and cook their foods so they retain more than double the nutrients and prevent leaching of toxic metals into their food.
