As you try your best to make heads or tails of your situation, you hear a familiar voice/s emanating from somewhere around you. “What are you doing over here by yourself, bro!?!” one of your pals shouts over the pounding dance music. You spin to the sound of the voice, but before you can answer a pint is shoved into your hands.
“Chug! Chug! CHUG!” is all you can hear from your once absent friends; breathing a heavy sigh of relief, you chug the contents of the oversized mug and ask for more. After a couple more pints or bottles, someone gets brave and orders a round of shots for the table; any friends who were still absent prior to this come peeling out of the woodwork for their share of the sweet stuff.
At this point “Liquid Courage” is replaced by “Liquid Energy” supplemented by a steady stream of whatever energy drink the club has in stock. Soon your batteries are fully charged and you are ready for more. Then again, depending on how much alcohol you just consumed, you might be overcharged and looking for a quick release of that energy.
“Wait! What’s that?” you think, as your eyes refocus on the dance floor. This time, though, you think you should do this the “smart” way as you coax some of your friends (hopefully of the opposite gender) to join you on the dance floor. “What better way to not lose your friends than to keep them with you, right?” you smirk to yourself as you gyrate to the music once more.
You look at your watch to find out the time, unfortunately the strobe lights and other luminary effects in the club are interfering with your watch’s backlight. “Oh well” you say to yourself as continue to spin and flail about in what you think is dancing.
The night is still young in the City that Never Sleeps, and there is much to do.
