Friends and Neighbors Festival: Works by Women begins tomorrow!



Strand Theater Company’s Friends and Neighbors Festival: Works by Women kicks off tomorrow with the first of four original plays, The XX Chromosome Genome Project, written by yours truly, S. Ann Johnson.

 The XX Chromosome Genome Project is a multicultural choreopoem that explores the similarities and differences between American women of different ethnicities through poetry, song, and dance. (FYI: A choreopoem is a dramatic work that combines poetry and choreography.)
Directed by Alvin E. Ford Jr., the plays stars Donisha Adams (Chocolate), Jessica Baker (Vanilla),Chrisovalandou Diakokomninos (Cinnamon), Naelis Ervin (Caramel), Nina Marti (Lemon), and Lauren Wardell (White Chocolate).
You have three chances to watch:
Thursday, June 3, 8 pm
Friday, June 4, 8 pm
Saturday, June 5, 8 pm

A chapbook of excerpts, poems, and monologues from The XX Chromosome Project is available for a minimum donation of $7 ($10 would be appreciated).
Proceeds benefit the cast and crew of this production, who are all volunteers! {S. Ann Johnson would like to reward them for their hard work with food, drinks, and gifts!}  
Chapbooks available for sale before and after the show and during intermission! 
*The cast and crew will be available to sign chapbooks after the show.
