Friendly Rottweiler surrendered when owners moved, now sick and on death row

Update 2/7/13 - 11:15 a.m. (PST): Rocky has been to a veterinarian where it is confirmed that he has pneumonia. Rocky must be out today or he will be destroyed.

At seven years of age, Rocky, an extra-large teddy bear of a dog, has lost his home.

Rocky's owners surrendered their dog to the South Los Angeles, Calif., Animal Care and Control Center when they moved.

Since being surrendered, the handsome Rottweiler has fallen ill with a serious upper respiratory infection and he is now in isolation and he needs to leave - soon.

A volunteer notes that Rocky, ID#A1367902, seems to be very well-socialized and responsive to people (he greets visitors with a rapidly wagging stump of a tail).

He also appears to get along well with other dogs; in fact, prior to becoming ill, he was kenneled with another dog.

Unfortunately for Rocky, not only does his sickness prevent him from being on the adoption floor, but the facility is in a state of transition and there are no phone calls or emails being received.

Fortunately, there is a dedicated volunteer who wants to help Rocky leave this facility and go to see a veterinarian where he can get treated for his illness, and then adopted to a loving family.

Please take a moment to network for Rocky. Anyone with questions or who is able to help, is asked to contact Andrea at: Email - ivegonetothedogs@gmail.com, or phone (323) 363-4909.
