Update 7/24/14: According to United Hope for Animals, Maple was rescued!
A beautiful, five-month-old puppy dubbed "Maple," needs to be rescued from an animal shelter in southern California today. Maple, a pit bull mix, has been at the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control facility in Baldwin Park, Calif., since July 10 - the day that she was found as as stray.
The shelter has notified us that Maple (aka Karma) is very ill and needs to be rescued and taken for medical treatment beyond what the shelter can provide TODAY. Please share this girl for immediate rescue or adoption.
Before Maple became sick, volunteers made a video highlighting her for adoption. Volunteers noted that Maple is "super-sweet and playful," and that she adores receiving affection.
Maple's Petharbor biography reads as follows:
Maple is a picture perfect 5-month-old gray-and-white female Pit Bull mix puppy who was found in Hacienda Heights and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on July 10th. Weighing 43 lbs and likely to be closer to 60 lbs when full grown, Maple is a chunk of puppy! She is great with other dogs and loves to lounge in human laps for pets and scratches. She appears to have had a little bit of training since she sits on command, but she could benefit from additional training/guidance. Maple will flourish best as an indoor pet in an active household in a single-family home, preferably with a big yard so she can have plenty of exercise!
Maple would thrive in an active, dog-savvy family...unfortunately, now that Maple is sick, there is no time to find and secure the "perfect" family.
Please take a moment to network Maple's information - she needs to be rescued from this facility today.
