Fried green tomatoes

Fried green tomatoes are easy to make and are a nice side to a variety of main dishes. One or two tomatoes are usually enough for dinner.

Slice the tomatoes, not too thick, but not paper-thin either. In a bowl or plastic bag, mix together about 1 cup of flour and 1-2 tsps each of seasoned salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. You can add in any other seasonings or spices that you enjoy. In another bowl, beat one egg to use for the glue.

Heat 1/2 cup of vegetable oil in a skillet. Dip the sliced tomatoes in the egg, then dredge in the seasoned flour mixture. Place tomato slices in skillet and cook, turning, until lightly browned on both sides.

Eat and enjoy!
