Family Groove Company, Parranderos Latin Combo (PLC), and Max Gomez top the list of bands performing in Central Iowa on June 13. Here is a look at Friday's concert calendar.

Chicago funk/jazz rock jam band Family Groove Company will play Wooly's in Des Moines on Friday night. The quartet has made the rounds on the festival circuit, playing Summerfest, 10,000 Lakes Festival, Summer Camp Music Festival, and others. FGC has released four full-length albums, and they plan on releasing #5 later this year. Tickets to see the 21-and-over show are $10, and Des Moines groove rockers Mighty Shady will kick off the show at 9 p.m.

Iowa blues/rock legend Bob Pace and The Dangerous Band will kick off a twinbill at the Gas Lamp in Des Moines on Friday. Pace and the band will host the venue's weekly Friday Work Release Party from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The 21+ event has free food while it lasts and a $5 cover charge. Then at 9 p.m., the 10- to 14-piece Latin collective Parranderos Latin Combo will celebrate the release of their self-titled debut album. Tickets to the Des Moines band's CD Release Party are $10. Banda Perla del Sur will open the 21+ event.

New Mexico folk/rock/blues singer Max Gomez will play the first Lit by the Sun Signature Series concert and dinner at the Hotel Pattee in Perry on Friday. Gomez (who also co-wrote three songs for Shawn Mullins' 2011 album Light You Up) released his debut album entitled Rule the World in 2013. You can watch the video for the album's first single, "Run from You" (directed by none other than Keifer Sutherland), embedded above. Dinner/concert combo tickets are no longer for sale, but you can still get in to see Gomez perform sans meal at 7:30 p.m. for $25 though the Hotel Pattee website.
