Two heavily attended events happened under clear blue skies on Friday night in downtown Oklahoma City continue to produce increased amounts of foot traffic in the inner city, which continues to revive intown as a place to work and live, visit, shop, eat and vacation.

In the entertainment district called Bricktown http://www.bricktownokc.com/ Chevy Events began a 2 day stint of Reggae Festival http://bricktownokc.com/index.php?reggaefest-poster.

The poster says 100 Bones was the opener, but it appears that Broke Brothers provided among other things a tribute to Oklahoma City's own Clara Luper, Civil Rights icon, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clara_Luper which had the crowd on their feet. The Reggae Festival offered traditional Jamaican foods, along with a variety of beverages and is free of admissions costs. This is an annual all ages event.

And the Myriad Gardens www.myriadgardens.org/ hosted a one night spot of singer John Fulbright in an accoustic set with a simple back up producing exquisite sounds to a crowd so packed the Great Lawn in front of the Clamshell stage was pave with people of all ages sitting elbow to elbow, and then peppered across the hills and adjacent lawn just beyond that were still more picnicing listeners.

Here is the type of music available Friday on The Great Lawn .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXGPfHBDwzg John Fulbright has intuitive, memorable lyrics, just asking voices to join him for a sing along.

John Fulbright is a grammy nominated singer from Okemah, Oklahoma, which is also where Carrie Underwood http://www.carrieunderwoodofficial.com/us/home is from and Woody Guthrie still honored http://www.woodyguthrie.com/

Here is Fulbright's web page bio. Three pretty different people. /http://www.johnfullbrightmusic.com/bio/ and a bit from the LA Times at the point of his nomination. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/music/posts/la-et-ms-john-fullbright-songs-album-grammy-20140526-story.html The Myriad offers a variety of events year round, many outdoors http://oklahomacitybotanicalgardens.com/events/, from all kinds of performers at all levels of skill and genre.

Independent of the event, the park and surrounding areas were full of the usual park visitors who merely came to enjoy the grounds and each other. Typically, there is at least one Quincenera and one wedding or couple or family formal photo shoot.

This combined set of events were not the only magnets drawing people, downtown. Someone was having a celebrity filled event across the street, at the Colcord with cameras popping at the entrance and valets scrambling to keep up with the arrivals. http://www.historichotels.org/hotels-resorts/colcord-hotel/ it wasn't clear if the function was in the hotel itself or Flint http://www.flintokc.com/?gclid=Cj0KEQjwu_eeBRCL3_zm8aOtvvkBEiQApfIbGIzouX7YWJPg1s9fv9TGAFXoFetU01DV6sYge8ERcAMaAgVv8P8HAQ

Ludivine also had a full house, with Teslas and Mercedes parked outside this intown sit down dining that is probably the closest shot to a full service clever restaurant focused on made in Oklahoma (MIO) http://miocoalition.com/ ingredients mixed with an upscale New York dining option tinged with comfort. So Hudson puts on slick even when H&8th is not on the nightly schedule. http://h8thokc.com/
