Friday marks the 50th anniversary of Beatlesmania on the Ed Sullivan Show

Friday marks 50 years since the Beatles landed at JFK airport. They forever changed the music landscape, according to a Feb. 7 report by ABC Local.

The Beatles touched down at JFK Airport. The four lads from Liverpool were John, Paul, Ringo and George. They landed on this day, Feb. 7, 1964.

Girls screamed when they landed. Everybody knew that the Beatles were going to be big. It's comparative to how girls today feel about OneDirection.

It landed up to their iconic performance on the Ed Sullivan Show. In 1964, 73 million Americans tuned in to see who this new band perform.

To mark the 50th anniversary, plenty of events have been planned throughout the weekend. There's also going to be a special dedicated to the band on CBS. The special will air on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 9 p.m. EST.

There will also be a Beatles exhibit at the Morrison Hotel. It opened today. It features images of how one moment in time forever changed our world.
