Warren Haynes Band – The Independent – San Francisco, CA – August 14, 2011

Every Friday Oakland Jam Bands Examiner gives readers a free Live and Legal Download suggestion, pulled from a variety of shows in the Bay Area.

This week’s Friday Live and Legal Download is Warren Haynes Band blowing the doors off The Independent in San Francisco, Calif. On August 14, 2011. Warren Haynes is a guitar master machine. At Wanee Music Festival I saw Warren go stage to stage sitting in with band after band. He’s played guitar for the Allman Brothers, fronted Gov’t Mule and collaborated with 100s of musicians. The Warren Haynes Band project is his latest venture and it's funky.

Warren Haynes has been on tour supporting his May 2011 release Man in Motion. The Warren Haynes Band lineup includes Alecia Chakour (vocals), Nigel Hall (keyboards, vocals), Ron Holloway (saxophone), Terrence Higgins (drums) and Ron Johnson (bass).

Warren Haynes Band played at Outside Lands Festival earlier in the day on August 14 before heading over to The Independent. From the crowded festival grounds to a close setting, the band rocked it…at least that’s what I can gather from this recording.

You’ll find a free download of Warren Haynes Band at The Independent on, you guessed it, bt.etree.org. That’s site is one of the best hosts of live music and it’s all free and legal (as long as it’s not sold so don’t be the person who ruins it for everyone else). Make sure you thank the taper, seed the show and spread some good music.
