Fresno city offices closed during holiday season for furloughs

In an effort to shrink the shortfall in the city budget, Fresno leaders have announced that most city administration offices will be closed from December 24, 2009 to January 3,2010 to accommodate worker furloughs that was part of the recent city plan to reduce the budget. Public service operations, including police, fire, sanitation and utilities, as well as airports and transit services,  will operate during the closure period.
