If the new Costco construction isn’t exciting enough, residents of Bellbrook and Sugarcreek will soon see another construction site developing. A new supermarket will be coming to town. Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, which will be located at 4317 Feedwire Rd. next to PetSmart, was just approved for a liquor permit by the Sugarcreek Township Board of Trustees and is paving their way to set a new foundation in the area. Construction date is unknown at the time but has an anticipated opening date in 2015 and construction is projected for fall.

“All their permits have been issued,” Cara Tilford, planning and zoning said. “They are opening a lot of stores around the same time period. But I don’t know when construction will begin.”

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market’s objection is to bring wholesome, fresh and local produce that is found in the weekend farmer’s markets to one place on a daily basis. According to their website, “our mission is to improve the way our communities eat by offering fresh and healthy food at amazing values.” The market will offer one of the largest produce departments offering locally grown or organic fruits and vegetables, natural meats less the hormones, fresh seafood, gluten free produce and other environmentally friendly products.

The first Fresh Thyme Farmers Market opens in Mt. Prospect in Illinois on April 23, 2014, then opening across the Midwest. In addition to the Centerville location on Feedwire Rd. opening in 2015, another location in Fairborn is expected. The corporation has a Midwest Rollout Plan to open over 60 locations and hire over 5,000 employees within the next five years. To experience the wonders of the market before it hits our area, a location will be opening in Columbus this summer and one in Cincinnati in the fall.
