As an update to this recently posted article about fresh squeezed orange, grapefruit, and tangerine juices at The Fresh Market, the Knoxville stores now carry, at least in the one-pint size, freshly squeezed (unpateurized) juice from certified organic oranges. Just like the other fresh juices, this product is available in the refrigerated section of their produce area and makes a great little treat, especially if you're concerned about choosing certified organic products whenever you have the opportunity.
This juice would certainly make a knockout mimosa, so next time you're planning a brunch or just want something a little elegant and special with breakfast, have some of it on hand to mix with your favorite champagne or sparkling wine, about three champagnes to two juices, kicked up a little bit, if you like, with a splash of your favorite liqueurs, Gran Marnier or Cointreau, or schnapps, peach or raspberry being popular but only the beginning of your possibilities. Don't close the door to making it with some or all freshly squeezed tangerine juice also.
Honestly, great cocktails involving citrus are heads-and-tails greater when the juice that you use is freshly squeezed. The Fresh Market, by offering these juices, makes that process all the easier. For some other ideas, see this article about tangerines and other winter citruses. There are two The Fresh Market locations in Knoxville, so be sure to check them out and get some great juice while you're there!
Happy drinking!
