Fresh Cafe and Market (1721 25th Street, Suite 110, in West Des Moines) will celebrate seven healthy and happy years in business with a celebration on Wednesday, March 27. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Fresh Cafe and Market will be offering free food and drink items to patrons that stop by to help them celebrate. Some of the items available will include mini veggie burger sliders, falafel, "cheese" and chips, and more.
Owner Kerri Rush opened Fresh Cafe and Market to offer Des Moines not only another healthy vegetarian option, but a more environmentally-conscious one, as well. The cafe offers a variety of organic, local, vegetarian, vegan, raw, and gluten free foods. The restaurant even uses cups and flatware that are made of a corn-based substance that biodegrades after 30 days in the trash.
Fresh Cafe and Market's menu and hours change periodically. Menu items include options like a Vegan Rueben Melt, their Raw Pesto Pasta, a Thai Vegetable Wrap (or salad), Raw Vegan Tacos, Fresh Veggie Burgers, wheatgrass shots, fruit smoothies, fresh juices, and Black Bean Soup. The award-winning cafe is currently open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The restaurant also does catering and hosts parties. For more information on Fresh Cafe and Market, check out their Facebook page, or call them at (515) 440-4700.
