2014 is gearing up to be a banner year for performing arts in Memphis. The economy is improving and the City of Memphis is taking over operations of its most famous street - Beale Street, of course. These plans include extending the Beale Street entertainment section, as well as, bringing more "Blues" establishments to the area that gave the city the iconic nickname, "Home of the Blues."

Not only is the performing arts of Beale Street showing signs of a busy 2014, the performing arts of the Orpheum Theatre are going to be spectacular in 2014. Beginning with this article, I will be posting all the events coming to the Orpheum. Also, I would like to express my appreciation of Christina Torres, Press Relations Manager for the Orpheum. She makes sure that writers like myself receive all the information we need to get our articles and press releases out to our readers.

With all that said, let's talk about a concert that is coming to the Orpheum on Saturday, January 11, 2014. The Fresh Beat Band will perform a single show beginning at 5:00 pm. The following is a press release from Christina Torres.

"The Fresh Beat Band, Nickelodeon’s popular preschool music group and stars of the hit TV series of the same name, have added 50 cities by popular demand to their enormously successful 2012 tour. Kiki (Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer), Shout (Thomas Hobson), Marina (Tara Perry), and Twist (Jon Beavers) will perform The Fresh Beat Band hits from seasons one, two and three of the live-action music series that teaches preschoolers about music appreciation and how to express their feelings through movement, song and instrumental music. Fresh Beat Band Party packages, which include a meet and greet with The Fresh Beat Band will be available."

The Orpheum Theatre is located at 203 S. Main Street, Memphis, Tennessee 38103

Tickets for the concert are $29.50 - $139.50, and can be purchased on-line at Orpheum-Memphis, or at the box office (901-525-3000)
