Emily Jaye and Eric Fraley from Frentik played an acoustic performance at The Mint in Los Angeles, California, on February 21, 2010.
Emily and Eric closed out the packed evening after Sara Haze and Mojo Rising played. See photos of Frentik by Sean Arenas in the slideshow below.
Frentik gave away another unique CD at this performance. If you ask nicely and provide an appropriate pen, they will sign the CD for you!
During the acoustic set, Frentik performed a cover of Metric's "Gimme Sympathy." They also treated the audience to high-powered acoustic versions of their rocking songs. Songs like "Red Riot" and "Firecracker" take on a completely new flavor when done acoustically, but the duo performed them with enthusiasm. Emily ran around the stage, dancing with enough vigor to make her hair fly.
During the song "Not a Bitch," Emily performed a new take on her "phone call" segment, this time without her cell phone. The phone call segment is yet another aspect of the band's performance that changes with each show; her conversations with this never present accuser delight Frentik's repeat audience members.
The band has had several performances lately. In February, they have performed at The Mint two times and at the Brixton in Redondo Beach. Plan to see them at Harvelle's on March 4, Dakota Lounge on March 27, 2010, and The Roxy in April!
