L'Albatros Brasserie + Bar (11401 Bellflower Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44106) is a tasty little treat right on Case Western Reserve's campus. Chef and owner Zach Bruell has created a neat space and delectable menu for campus residents and visitors from all over.
The dinner menu includes such delicious delicacies as onion soup, a goat cheese tart with olives and sun dried tomatoes, braised leeks with dijon mustard sauce, radish and cucumber salad, a large cheese selection, hanger steak and frites, musselswith pomme frites, pied de cochon, roasted vegetable pizza, and a selection of daily specials. And that's just a selection of the wide variety of dishes that are offered there.
The happy hour is surprising and tantalizing at L'Albatros. The beverages include Saint-Emilion (les hauts de canon-la-gaffeliere bordeaux, 2006; $8), blood orange champagne cocktail ($7), Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon (chateau la graviere, bordeaux, 2010; $7), Great Lakes seasonal draft ($4.50), and Finlandia grapefruit, St. Germain & white grapefruit juice ($8). The bites include fried cauliflower ($5), pomme frites ($5), a goat cheese tart ($5), bianco pizza ($10), le petit charcuterie ($8.5), L'Albatros burger ($10), and mussels with pomme frites ($10). This menu is obviously a great way to get a taste for what is offered here and enough to keep you coming back for more!
