Fun for the whole family can be found at the Getty's French Festival on Saturday, September 12th, from 10am-6pm.
The festivities include music and dancing with the Mad Alsacians with Nathalie Broizat and Jason Jenn, an "accordion-driven combo, as they recreate the atmosphere of late-1940s Paris. Dance with performers Broizat and Jenn, who evoke the feeling of a Parisian bal populaire—an occasion for the people to dance in the streets."
Kids and parents alike will be delighted by David Prather, who "draws on themes and imagery from ancient Greek and Roman myths, transforming them with irresistible energy and humor."
The "streets" will be filled with strolling performers, in fanciful costumes, to bring laughter and joy to all. Don't miss the Dragon Knights as they perform their street theatre à la Française.
Perhaps the most fun for the kids will be the hands-on art making workshops. They can create their own bronze sculpture, design their own French beret, use French magazines to create a personalized frame, and create their own postcards inspired by the Getty's gardens.
This event is free and welcome to all, even if you don't know a word of French. Come enjoy this special family day at the Getty Museum.
