Rachel Kylian is “une très belle femme francaise” - a very beautiful French woman, and she is on a trajectory to stardom.
In an interview Feb. 11, Kylian said since she was a kid she loved art. “I started dancing when I was seven, and I took a class in painting and theater,” she said.
The multi-talented actress, model, dancer, and voice-over-artist continued, “I quickly realized that I love being on stage, entertaining people. Ending in Los Angeles was the logical path.”
Born in France, Kylian, the middle one of three daughters, visited Hollywood 10 years ago at age 16; that same year, she began modeling, on runways, in beauty pageants, and print..
She returned to Hollywood in 2010 to focus on a career in acting.
Kylian said her mom is her inspiration. “She is a very ambitious person. She is a very talented Chef and entrepreneur.”
The aspiring actress speaks four languages fluently – French, German, English, and Swahili and speaks Spanish on a conversation level.
She has traveled the world – been to countries some have never heard of. She’s been to Tanzania and Morroco and all over Europe. She has been to many major cities in the U.S. and has traveled to the Far East. But Los Angeles is where the “belle femme francaise” has settled and is making a name for herself.
Her latest film role was as a supporting actress in “Black November,” a story based on actual events about the struggle for Nigeria's petroleum-rich Niger delta in which she said working with greats like Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Kim Bassinger, Mickey Rourke, Vivica Fox, Ann Heche, and director Jeta Amata was “a great experience.” She said, “I love being on set with very talented people, so I can learn from them.”
At the moment Kylian is focused on acting, but she loves to dance too. The beautiful brunette, although not a professional dancer, is trained in ballet, burlesque, and hip-hop. “I love to dance and am open for dancing opportunities,” Kylian said.
She also said her younger sister “dances ballet at a very high level and wants to dance professionally.”
Kylian works daily in an effort to improve her acting skills. You might spot her in the background on any one of a number of network and cable TV shows. Most recently – “Hart of Dixie,” “New Girl,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “House of Lies,” and many more.
The talented actress has a lot going for her and has a lot going on!
“I am currently working on a voice over project; it is a spanish TV show ‘Gavilanes’ that will air in France.” She is dubbing the voice of Lucia, one of the principle characters in French. Season 1 is complete and recording of season 2 is currently underway. It will air on the French TV network, France O.
Kylian is a rare find in the sea of starlets hoping to find fame in Hollywood. And with her natural beauty, her focus, and her willingness to learn from others, she may soon reach her goal of becoming a “very successful and recognized actress.”
