FreedomPop provider of cost savings for mobile phone service had a press announcement yesterday and appeared on PhoneDog with the latest cost savings in mobile service. It is the fastest growing mobile service in America. Yesterday it announced an additional service in security against surveillance and anonymity.
If the price of a smartphone and all of its added cost for items you do not use is wasting your money then you would like a mobile phone package from FreedomPop. You can purchase a refurbished Samsung S2 with its price for $159 and first month free of service; then a monthly fee of $4.95 per month for unlimited voice and text. You can stay on a free plan with a 200 voice minute max, 500 texts, and 500MB of data.
For the person who wants privacy from surveillance and thieves, you can purchase a Privacy Phone for $189 which includes unlimited voice and text, plus 500 MB’s of data for three months then costs $10 a month after that.
FreedomPop has been providing cost savings in mobile phone usage since 2012. I had an opportunity to speak with Steven Sesar, COO at FreedomPop about the cost savings, privacy package and growth path for the company.
Steven provided the reason for the decision to provide a security phone package because of the recent NSA revelations. ‘In light if recent violations in consumer’s privacy across social networks and mobile devices, privacy is becoming increasingly important to many Americans and we all have a right to communicate anonymously,' stated Steven.
The information provided in their press release yesterday states that, ‘the Privacy Phone will leverage FreedomPop’s VoIP network, and will enable encrypted voice packets so they cannot be traced. In addition, all application and Internet data will be sent through a secure encrypted virtual private network (VPN). The Privacy Phone is built on top of the Samsung Galaxy II Android smartphone. Users can also request a number change at any time as many times as they want.’
FreedomPop is able to provide mobile phone service and high-speed Internet from wholesale purchase from Sprint for resale through the FreedomPop network. Service is nationwide and availability can be checked out on the FreedomPop website along with other service information.
Steven stated that for those ‘really concerned about anonymity, bitcoin payment is accepted.’ FreedomPop uses BitPay as their exchange. The percent of the customer base at FreedomPop who use bitcoin is 35%.
The customer base for FreedomPop has grown organically from users referring on the savings information to friends and associates. At this time according to Steven the customer base is ‘over several hundreds of thousands’ and the forecast for the year-end will be 1-2 million. He expects over the next year to see it grow at an exponential rate in the millions.
The recognition of the increased acceptance amongst savvy tech consumers provides their increased outlook to continue to participate at the CES 2015 show in Las Vegas as they started with their first booth appearance at CES 2014 this past January, said Steven.
The cost savings and privacy is spreading in its customer base to purchase by small business owners. Requests have come from taxi and limo services. Steven sees that this will only continue in the future.
You may go to Amazon for FreedomPop link or click onto the FreedomPop website. The CNBC review listed on the FreedomPop website states, 'throwing a firebomb in the middle of the industry.' Their market entry has been explosive and is assuredly a player to consider in mobile phone service.
