WORST IN SHOW - Freedom Service Dogs of America is hosting an inaugural "Worst in Show" dog event on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 1-5 p.m. at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum in Lowry. The event welcomes the singing, drooling, hairy dogs that deserve the title of Worst in Show (a takeoff on the 2000 comedic film "Best in Show").The show includes people food, dog treats and free parking. MEET YOUR MATCH - Valentine's Day is just around the corner and you could "Meet your Match" at the Denver Animal Shelter on Feb. 15 and 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event includes reduced adoption fees: dogs ($85), cats ($50) and small animals ($10); Free dog trainer advice; pet photography; kid's activities and shelter tours. MAXFUND MONDAYS - Renegade Brewing Company has partnered with MaxFund to raise money for the nonprofit group. Every Monday, Renegade will select a beer to be the MaxFund Monday beer. $1 of every glass of that beer purchased will go to MaxFund, They'll switch it up so you can have some variety while supporting pet adoption. The last Monday of every month, you can meet Renegade's MaxFund Pet of the Month. In the beginning of the month Renegade will select a pet who needs a home. Stop into the taproom or check out Renegade's Facebook page to get a little information about the pet of the month. When it’s time for the pet to visit the taproom, you’re welcome to stop in between 5 and 7 p.m. to say hey or introduce your own dog, at the dog-friendly breery at 925 W. 9th Ave. in Denver's Santa Fe Arts District. SCHOOL FOR PUPPIES - The Humane Society of Boulder Valley will present Puppy Prep School, a five-week class beginning Jan. 27 that provides instruction on basic obedience and behavioral issues, as well as offering your puppy the opportunity to socialize with a new group of friends. DENKAI CLINICS - Denkai Animal Sanctuary's community veterinary clinic in Eaton is offering a series of low-cost vaccination and microchipping clinics. through March 1.
