Freebirds World Burrito opens in Denton

Dentonites are celebrating as Freebirds World Burrito hosted its grand opening last Thursday. The beloved restaurant, located in the new Rayzor Ranch commercial complex, had spotlights, good music, and a line of customers out the door. Earlier in the week, a few residents were able to get a sneak peek of the restaurant when it opened its doors for a few trial runs. During the trial runs, meals were complimentary when customers contributed a small donation to a local cause. This all in preparation for Thursday’s grand opening.

The first Freebirds opened in Santa Barbara, California, in 1987. Then, in 1990 the first opened in Texas near the campus of Texas A&M in College Station. The eatery gained tremendous popularity at the College Station location, which led to the opening of Freebirds restaurants across Texas.

The Freebirds World Burrito concept is similiar to other burrito restaurants like Chipotle and Hooyah, but many would argue that Freebirds makes the best! Customers order burritos with all their favorite ingredients. This includes a choice of tortilla, meat, beans, cheese, and a variety of other toppings. Other Tex-mex fare is also available on the menu.

If you have never experienced the goodness that is Freebirds World Burrito, take a big appetite and give the super monster a try and in between bites make your own artistic foil sculpture! While you are there, start earning stamps on your Fanatic card and use them to buy more burritos or Freebirds apparel.

I want to try it, but I'm not convinced I'll be a fan of Razor Ranch - like everything else these days it's politically tainted. Money is our biggest voice these days so choose your words carefully.

Freebirds is absolutely one of my favorite places. I've been missing it ever since I moved from the Lubbock area, and I'm so glad they found me again!
