When money’s tight, it’s easy to let things like health and self-care go by the wayside. But sometimes the best things in life really are free.

Such is the case with the Yoga & Fitness classes held every Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Sylmar Branch Library in the San Fernando Valley. Admission is free, with no reservation required.

Participants gather from 11:30 to 12:30 a.m. in front of the Big Screen at the Sylmar branch (14561 Polk St., Sylmar 91342), part of the Los Angeles Public Library system.

The workouts are catered to beginners and range from yoga to a variety of other workout styles. The instructor will supply straps and extra-thick mats; or you can your own blanket, towel or cushion.

Occasionally, a Saturday meeting is cancelled, so you are encouraged to check ahead of time for the most up-to-date scheduled published on the instructors’ website,

Or, call (818) 367-6102 and ask for Dana (yoga workouts) or Chukwuji (fitness workouts).
