It's January. Everywhere you look, there are "New Year, New You" campaigns. Gyms and weight loss centers are on a feeding frenzy; just hoping to attract as many new members as possible. This is the time when people make resolutions to make changes in the way they look.
Whatever your goals may be, you deserve to look and feel your best. In fact, you deserve this right now! Why not get a makeover before you work on making yourself over? Here are a couple tips that will leave your friends, family members, and co-workers wondering what is different about you!
1. Smile more! Smiling brightens your face. It makes the light bounce off your eyes. Smiling even gives you a flush of natural color. Don't worry if your smile is not perfect. A genuine smile, perfect or not, will attract people to you.
2. Sit up straight! Good posture exudes confidence. It makes you seem more motivated. And, believe it or not, good posture makes you look thinner. Sit up straight. Pull your shoulders back slightly. Focus on your breathing. As a side benefit, you might even strengthen your core a bit. Then you might be able to skip the gym. After all, it is probably pretty crowded right now!
3. Test-drive a new 'do. Before you run to the salon for a cut and color, consider making a simple change. If you normally wear your hair stick-straight, try putting some waves or curls in your hair. If you always wear your hair up, wear it down for a few days. Even parting your hair on the opposite side can change your look slightly. See what kind of response you get from the people around you. If it is favorable, maybe you will want to start styling your hair that way all the time. If not, consider trying something else. It is a test-drive!
These three tips might not be a drastic change; but they should give you a little oomph to start the year. There is no need to rush into a dramatic new hair style or a whole new wardrobe just because it is January. Be you. Stay beautiful!
