Free winter family programs at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore

The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is now open during the winter season.  January and February Zoo hours are 10am to 4pm Friday through Monday with half-price admission every day.

Throughout January and February, the Zoo Educational Department is offering free family drop in programs at the Meeting Barn.  Located in the Farmyard Area (part of the Lyn P. Meyerhoff Maryland Wilderness/Children’s Zoo Exhibit), the heated Meeting Barn is open 10:30am to 1pm Friday through Sunday, and 10:30am to 11:30am Mondays.
 
Families can participate in fun and educational activities, plus they can meet the Zoo’s Animal Ambassadors.  The free family drop in programs at the Meeting Barn are listed below.  For more information, check out contact section at the end of the article.

The Zoo’s Animal Ambassadors are waiting to meet you.  Learn fascinating facts about the animal of the day.  Volunteers and staff lead this program, so it is dependent on their availability.  It is also affected by the weather and available climate-controlled transportation.
