Spend the weekend (9/20-9/21) exploring a variety of working farms during the eighth annual Whidbey Island Farm Tour. Visitors can chat with the farmers, taste locally grown/made fruits, veggies, cheese, treats, honey, jam, spirits, purchase home grown goodies, interact with farm animals while learning about farm life.
The event is a free self-guided tour of 14 farms allowing visitors to include as many or as few farms as they wish. The Whidbey Island farmers raise over 200 varieties of fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs as well as numerous types of animals for dairy, meat, eggs and fiber.
To make the most of your time, visitors can download a tour map or simply follow the yellow Farm Tour signs, posted on highways 20 and 525. Most of the farms will be open 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and will offer an assortment of fun activities along with the tours and samples.
