Syracuse area dog trainers and dog owners who'd like to improve their training skills and their dogs' behavior can take advantage of ten free pre-recorded online dog training seminars this month. Sponsored by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), the free webinars run throughout January.
APDT webinars to celebrate National Train Your Dog Month include:
- Dog Safety: What to Teach Your Kids, by Joan Orr. Parents, this is what kids need to know about living and interacting safely with the dogs they meet.
- Got C.L.A.S.S.? Canine Life and Social Skills for Pet Owners, by Ann Allums, CPDT-KA. Learn about this APDT program that teaches dogs real-life skills while assessing students’ understanding of basic dog handling and care.
- Housetraining Basics, by Teoti Anderson, CPDT-KA. Practical solutions to housetrain your dog, whether it’s a puppy or an adult.
- How to Become a Professional Dog Trainer, by Mychelle Blake, MSW, CDBC. Learn basic routes that trainers take to become professionals in the field of dog training and behavior.
- It Takes Two: Successful Cat and Dog Interactions, by Jacqueline Munera, CCBC, PCBC, CAP 2. Learn techniques to increase positive associations between cats and dogs who live together.
- Loose Leash Walking, by Gail Fisher. Learn how to take your dog for a walk that's pleasurable for both of you.
