Free webinar on “Enrichment for Shelter Dogs” on January 29

ASPCAPro.org will be hosting a free one-hour webinar on “Enrichment for Shelter Dogs” on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 3 p.m. Eastern time. The webinar will be presented by Kelley Bollen (MS, CABC) of Animal Alliances, LLC.

This free webinar will benefit anyone working in animal rescue and welfare – including transporters, caretakers and adoption counselors. The ideas and concepts participants will take away from the webinar will be perfect to share with potential adopters.

The following information on this webinar is from the ASPCAPro website:

“Looking for ways to keep dogs in your care mentally healthy? The shelter is a stressful place for animals. Novelty of the environment, the restricted nature of confinement, and a lack of mental and physical stimulation contribute to stress. It’s imperative that we keep the dogs in our care mentally as well as physically healthy while they await adoption.

Behavioral and environmental enrichment can go a long way to improve the welfare of shelter dogs and should be considered an integral part of their routine care. This presentation will provide you with a variety of ideas to accomplish this important goal for the dogs being held at your facility as well as in foster care.”
