From 8:30 a.m. until noon on Sat., Sept. 14, veterans, active duty military, guard, reservists, and family members are invited to attend a free health clinic and expo at Trinity Lutheran Church, 405 S. Rush Street in Roselle.
“Just by attending, you’ll likely learn about new programs and services available to you,” said organizer Joe Palmer of Bloomingdale VFW Post 7539.
Free flu shots are among the services provided. Of course, this is standard issue for all veterans enrolled in the VA Healthcare System. For any veteran not enrolled, a copy of a DD214 (honorable discharge) can quickly resolve that issue.
The mobile medical van will be onsite Saturday. Medical personnel will provide free screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, vision, and hearing.
Any veteran who needs to file a disability claim can do so on Saturday. The expo will feature VA personnel to enter claims into the VA system.
Also in attendance will be Illinois government agencies and businesses interested in hiring veterans. The expo will include representatives from local colleges explaining education benefits. Housing agencies will be available to explain the finer details on affordable housing.
