By the time you've finished spending money on Valentine's Day cards and candy for your kids' school class party, a gift for your child and special gifts for relatives, you may start to feel less loving and more stressed. If you're looking for a way to help your kids celebrate the holiday without spending additional money, the St. Louis County Library has the perfect solution.
The Cliff Cave branch of the St. Louis County Library, which is located at 5430 Telegraph Road, will host a free Valentine's Day party on Saturday, February 11th. From 2:00 to 3:30 p.m., children ages 5 through 12 are invited to join the library staff for some fun activities, created just for kids.
The St. Louis County Library will have age-appropriate games for kids in attendance. These fun-filled activities along with Valentine's Day-themed crafts and refreshments will keep kids smiling all afternoon and it won't even cost you a penny.
While you're at the library, you might also want to check out some love-themed books to celebrate Valentine's Day. Any of the selections below would make for great reading and bonding time with your kids:
The night before Valentine's Day by Natasha Wing
Clifford's first Valentine's Day by Norman Bridwell
Happy Valentine's Day! (with Little Bill) by Robert Scull
Turtle and Snake's Valentine's Day by Kate Spohn
It's Valentine's Day by Jack Prelutsky
The Berenstain Bears' funny valentine Stan & Jan Berenstain
Nate the Great and the mushy valentine by Marjorie Weinman Sharmat
Junie B. Jones and the mushy gushy valentime by Barbara Park
If you'll be my Valentine by Cynthia Rylant
To attend the free Valentine's Day party at the St. Louis County Library, please register in advance so that the library staff can plan for the appropriate number of children.
