According to a Mar. 20 report in the “All App News”, “AccuWeather for iPhone” has just released a major update in the App Store. In fact, it has a completely new user interface (UI).
The developer has brought the clean, easy to navigate UI from the “AccuWeather for iPad” app and brought it to iPhone. Just like with the iPad app, current conditions now refresh every five minutes, there is an option for more or less weather detail, a probability of precipitation in forecast, plus lots more.
One of the cool things about this weather app is that you can create desired forecasts for certain events. For example, let's say you want to go to the beach on a given day. You just set the app for “Outdoor Fitness” and the app will compare the current temperature, wind and cloud cover to ideal “Outdoor Fitness” conditions. It will that say “It's much colder than you'd like” or “It's just the right amount of wind” or “It's cloudy”. Free.
Another cool update to hit the App Store today is for the game, “Team Awesome”. This side-scrolling runner has, well, awesome graphics. There are 120 missions for these four “Team Awesome” members as they rise from dead-end jobs to superheroes. They face aliens, robots, explosions, trains, trucks and more as they catch shiny gold coins and race through buildings. Of course they don't always have a door to go through as they move from room to room in some buildings, but that's okay: they'll make their own doors, just like every other superhero. “Team Awesome” is compatible with iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Both apps are free.
