Summer in San Antonio is not just about keeping cool, try exploring some new areas of town.

One of the unique tours in San Antonio is at the CIA (Culinary Institute of America). It is free and located at the Pearl Brewery complex which is built along the San Antonio River. The complex includes a park and shops plus restaurants to enjoy. The address for the cooking school is at 312 Pearl Parkway.

Tours take about 20-30 minutes long and are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 3:30. You can watch the chefs-in-training and learn more about the campus. Or find out what it takes to become a chef. Contact Denise Zuniga at 210 554-6400 or email
