Players invested in the latest Total War carnage will receive the F2P version plus in-game content.
Purchasers of Total War: Rome II will get early access to the work-in-progress Total War: ARENA, Creative Assembly announced today. TWA is the studio’s first venture into the free-to-play model. Access will begin as the title becomes available.
Beta access is included with Total War: ARENA, along with Legion Armory bonuses and $15 of in-game credit (note: terms and conditions apply). “ROME II players automatically earn ‘Legion’ status and will be able to experience the massed battle MMO before the game opens up to all,” the company explained in a press release.
How the TWA version will operate has yet to be fully revealed. What we do know is the title will have a sole focus on multiplayer. The obvious question is how will it differ from the multiplayer mode in TWRII? Part of the answer rests within the MOBA gameplay. We’ll have to wait and see as details are divulged.
Check out the Total War ARENA site for further details. Total War: ROME II is set to release on September 3rd for PC.
