FREE Tennis Open House for Kids and other low-cost tennis programs

The weather outside isn't exactly screaming tennis lessons... unless they're indoors.

Urban Tennis NYC, with three locations in New York City (indoors), teaches children ages 2 1/2 (i.e. racket-sized) to 13 the fundamentals of tennis, promising no more than six kids per class, over 400 tennis balls hit every play period, equipment provided and highly qualified coaches with collegiate and professional experience.

Want to see for yourself? They've got a FREE Open House scheduled for this Sunday, February 9 from 11-11:45, 11:45-12:15, and 12:15- 1:00 at 210 West 91st Street (Young Israel of the West Side)

To sign your child up for their 45 minute slot, email or call 646-599-7189.

If you choose to register then for the Winter Semester, one class per week for 14 weeks will run you $910, and two classes per week for 14 weeks will cost $1400.

In this weather, that sounds like a reasonable deal for a roof over your head, padded Astroturf under your feet and small classes where everyone gets plenty of whacks at the ball.

However, if you are willing to wait until the summertime and don't mind crowds (as well as beating those crowds for first-come/first-served registration), not to mention the heat, then check out some of these low-cost or even FREE NYC tennis programs for kids at Mommy Poppins.
