The Colorado Math Circle, a group that provides educational enrichment to middle and high school students, will be offering two free workshops during the summer of 2012. Both week long workshops will take place on the University of Colorado Boulder campus and participants will need to provide their own daily transportation to and from campus. Campus housing for out of town students is not provided for these workshops.
Sophie Math, the program geared toward girls entering 7th through 9th grades in the fall of 2012, will run from Monday, July 16, 2012 through Friday, July 20, 2012. Applicants should have completed Algebra prior to attending this workshop and applications for Sophie Math will be accepted through March 23rd.
The workshop designed for high school students, Lambda, has recently moved up the application deadline to February 17, 2012 due to the large number of applications already received. Space at Lambda is limited, thus the Colorado Math Circle has indicated that they will not be able to accept all applicants.
Lambda focuses on computer programing and will run from Monday, June 4, 2012 to Friday, June 8, 2012. Male or female students entering 9th grade or above in the fall of 2012 may apply. Applicants will be notified of their admission status by the end of February.
