A great way to beat the summer heat is to cool down in the evening while listening to live music. There are plenty of summer concerts and performances in Albuquerque each summer, many of which are free to attend. You can dance the night away, support local businesses and enjoy the sounds of summer. Many take place outdoors where you can take the whole family if you wish. There's usually food and drink for sale and other activities going on such as face painting, handmade goods for sale and art on display. There's not a weekend in July that you won't be able to find some free live music to jam out to in Albuquerque. Here are just a few that you can attend.
Summerfest returns to the City of Albuquerque with its outdoor music ranging from Latin to Jazz, Contemporary and Rock. Summerfests are held in various spots around Albuquerque to appreciate the variety of our city and make it accessible for neighborhood residents to enjoy. Heights Summerfest already passed last week with Cherry Poppin' Daddies. Arrested Development will be playing live at the Route 66 Summerfest on July 19th. You may recall their song "Tennessee". 15 other groups will be playing this day as well, on Central in Nob Hill. Stay tuned for 2 more Summmerfests happening in August featuring Sheila E and Morris Day & The Time happening Downtown and on the Westside.
