We've all heard about the scandal with the Secret Service, but most probably didn't hear about the newest attack by our government on the Constitution. In March, a new law, known as H.R. 347, was passed. Due to what the law includes, there was minimal to no coverage of it in the news. This law allows the Secret Service, at absolutely any point, to set up a "No Free Speech Zone." If you violate it, you could face up to 1 year in prison.
This law, according to reports, was supported by both Democrats and Republicans. As with many of the problems with our government, it has nothing to do with parties. Our government and many Americans, have come to a point where this country and what it stands for is being destroyed and rejected. The hatred of American values, which has been driven by liberals in our government, ignorant people in Hollywood, liberally biased news organizations, and textbooks that attempt to portray history through politically correct(and therefore, factually inaccurate) perspectives, has become so prevalent that the general population is no longer fighting for America the way they should. Laws like this are becoming so common, and so little is reported on them, that most people only know some of the ways in which our rights are being violated and taken away. Our Constitution, in place to protect our rights and this country, is quickly becoming a list of things that we used to have the freedom to do.
The news, instead of informing us of the facts and of legitimate stories, instead, tell us about which celebrity wants to have a baby, or how the most recent American Idol contestant to be sent home felt about the competition. Rather than letting us know about our rights being taken away, they keep us up to date on who's dating who in Hollywood. People blame big business for our news being the way it is. And in some ways, I agree. However, our main news sources are so dedicated to promoting liberal agendas, that they ignore things we need to hear. And when we do hear stories that are important, such as the shooting of Trayvon Martin, they are so hooked on trying to make it sound as sensational as possible, that we don't even get the real story. 911 calls were edited to make it sound like it was completely based on race. The story was immediately presented as a hate crime. And it may have been. If Zimmerman is guilty, I fully support him getting the strongest penalty available in Florida. It's absolutely unacceptable for someone to just shoot someone based on race. However, we don't know if it was a hate crime. We really don't know the full story. There are witnesses that say it was self-defense. There's the girlfriend of Trayvon, who based on what she has said happened while she was on the phone with him, was given the impression that Zimmerman was following/harassing Trayvon. Very few people know the full story, yet so many news sources stated and continue to promote the idea that it was definitely a hate crime. As I stated, I am in full support of Zimmerman getting the harshest punishment possible if it is found to be a hate crime. But the point is that most of our news sources are so focused on their agenda, that they cannot even get the important stories right.
Our country is being changed drastically, and rather than being like the land of the free, we are being more like Hussein's Iraq, or Mao's China, or Hitler's Germany. Yes, I am saying that our government, led by Barack Obama, is acting very similar to the previously mentioned government leaders. And the news, which is supposed to be our source of information, sits idly by and does not provide us with the necessary stories of what's going on around us. Our freedom is being taken away, and yet we continue to put idiots in office. It's a proven fact that Conservatives tend to be better for America and more in support of American values than Liberals. But even Conservatives have become more complacent with failure and the destruction of America. That is why the bill outlawing free speech was able to be bipartisan.
However, if we show our support for accurate and authentic news sources, and reject the anti-American propaganda known as mainstream news, then maybe major news sources will finally decide to report news rather than American hatred and insignificant news about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. News sources such as Examiner.com, written by actual people, and World Net Daily, written by professionals who have an idea about what is a true news story, are ones we need to support and follow. Then, maybe, I would not have been the first person telling you about the law banning free speech, and it would be reported on mainstream sources, to get more people to hear about the atrocities happening in our country. However, it may be too late, because our free speech is already being taken away.
